Youngest donor gives a coat to help those in need
Brandt Buchler, 2, came in this week with his mom, Shannon Pratt, to donate a coat he had outgrown. His gift was the 71st coat in our 2017 Fall Coat Drive! We always need children’s coats because kids grow so quickly that it’s hard for many parents to keep up. Thank you, Brandt and Shannon, for being so generous.
Give to our annual Fall Coat Drive
Our annual Fall Coat Drive starts now and goes through Dec. 22. We invite you to drop off new or used coats from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at our office in Hayes, Virginia.
We are once again working with the Salvation Army, the Gloucester United for Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST), and the Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center to distribute every single coat donated to people in need in our community.
Gibson, Singleton participate in drunk driving mock sentencing for Middlesex teens
Just in time for senior prom and graduation, GibsonSingleton Virgnia Injury Attorneys Ken Gibson and John Singleton helped stage a mock “driving under the influence” (DUI) sentencing for Middlesex High School seniors. The hearing demonstrated what can happen when teens drink alcohol and drive.
Getting personal with … Ken Gibson
- Which living person do you most admire?
I most admire my parents, Joyce and Harold Gibson, who instilled in me the values of faith, hard work, and service to others. Their marriage serves as a model for Beth and me, and I look back at their example as parents as we raise our twins. My parent’s love and their support of my education enabled me to achieve my goal of becoming a lawyer. - What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My wife, Beth, of course! Beth is a wonderful wife and a caring mother for our young twins. A proud Texan who loves Virginia, Beth is passionate about the causes she cares about and uses her outstanding communications skills to help our law firm better serve our clients. Beth has a great spirit and joy for life and, by the way, did she tell you she’s from Texas? - Where would you like to live?
I enjoy living with my family right here in beautiful Gloucester County, Virginia. Our area is blessed with the physical beauty of our forests, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay, which we enjoy through boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities. More importantly, my family and I are grateful for the welcoming and wonderful people of our community. - Best safety tips for local drivers?
Keep a safe following distance from the car in front of you, and never text while driving. The majority of our firm’s personal injury clients were injured by other drivers who were following too closely and hit our clients’ cars from behind. Often the at-fault driver was texting or distracted at the time of the collision.
