GibsonSingleton selects a winner for Texts=Wrecks Scholarship 2019!

By Beth Gibson on June 13, 2019

It’s June 13, 2019, and you know what that means… it’s time for our law firm to announce who won the Texts=Wrecks Scholarship 2019!

We asked for solutions to combat dangerous, drunk, and distracted driving in our lives. Since motor vehicle crashes are still the leading cause of death for teenagers in the U.S., this issue is as important now as it was decades ago. But we’re glad to say young drivers are also leading the charge to change things at the local level! Just take a look at our finalists.

Overall, we at GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys received over 785 applications from across the country, and good ideas poured in to keep everyone safer while driving! Ultimately, while we loved the response, and each of our finalists gave us a thoughtful and clear answer, we decided to go with this powerful vision.

Our winner is… Glynncarynn C., of Gloucester, VA! Please visit our website to read her essay, and don’t hesitate to incorporate her ideas while you drive! We certainly will be, and we applaud her goal of spreading outreach through high school and college programs. For those ideas, we’re awarding her $1,000 toward her college education! Supporting up-and-coming leaders is a big job, one that we’re happy to do. We wish you the best, Glynncarynn!

Thank you to all our finalists, and to everyone who applied! Please visit our blog, or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to see other opportunities to get involved! We’ll be hosting this scholarship again in 2020, so please try again. Spend the time in between working on your safe driving initiatives. 😊

You can also reach out to GibsonSingleton’s community outreach director, Beth Gibson, at [email protected], if you have any questions or ideas. Once again, we thank you for participating, and we hope to see you next year!

And remember – Never take your eyes off the road… don’t become our client! Filing a lawsuit is always the second choice. The first choice is staying healthy, if you can. We wish you safe travels and a happy college career!
