Our team at GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys is pleased to announce our 2023 Texts=Wrecks college scholarship. This year, it’s just for current and former graduates of Virginia high schools. So if that’s you, your chances of winning just got better!
Every year, we offer a $1,000 scholarship to the student whose essay best exemplifies our commitment to safe driving. But again, this year our scholarship is open only to students who are graduating or have graduated from a Virginia high school.
Our commitment to safe driving
More than 3,000 people died in the United States during a recent year in crashes involving distracted drivers, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). So, at our firm, we’re doing everything we can to eliminate this horrible problem.
As part of our “Texts=Wrecks” campaign to educate teens about the dangers of texting while driving, we also offer families a Keys to Safe Driving agreement that helps young people make wide decisions when they get behind the wheel.

“Tests=Wrecks” Essay prompt
Qualifying students are invited to submit an essay between 500 and 1,000 words that answers the following question:
When you go to college, you’re essentially moving from the passenger seat of life into the driver’s seat. Now, you’ll be making your own choices, both good and bad. At GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys, we’re passionate about preventing senseless accidents by encouraging people to make good choices—like choosing not to drive distracted, or choosing not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
How are you going to take what you’ve learned so far in life to make these types of decisions now that you’re an adult? How will you, or how have you already, encouraged others to make wise choices as well, especially about their driving?
What happens next?
Our team will carefully read all the essays and announce the scholarship winner on June 6, 2023.
Scholarship details:
