GibsonSingleton Fall Coat Drive: Will you donate?

By Beth Gibson on September 29, 2015

GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys is holding our first annual Fall Coat Drive now through Dec. 18, 2015. We invite you to drop off new or used coats from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at our office, 4073 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes.

We are working with the Laurel Shelter, the Salvation Army, and the Gloucester United for Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST) to distribute the coats to people in need in our community.

All who donate a coat will receive a free ice scraper, and you can register for a drawing to win a 42-piece road safety kit, two tickets to Gloucester’s Rock ‘n Rotary event with The Ballast Band on Jan. 23, 2016 ($50 value), and other items. Drawings will be held throughout the drive. Groups or individuals who donate 10 or more coats will also receive special recognition on our website.

“We know that winter a difficult time for people without the means to buy coats, especially families with children,” said John Singleton. “We want to join with our community to do something tangible to help our neighbors.”

Ken Gibson said, “Whether you have a closet full of coats you no longer wear, or one kid’s coat that’s been outgrown, we encourage you to put them to good use by donating. If you feel led to go buy a new one, especially for a child, that’s great too.”

GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys is on the way to meeting our goal of collecting at least 100 coats during the drive. Singleton said, “That is about two coats a day during our drive, but we know the good and generous people of the Middle Peninsula will respond to the call.”

Gibson concluded, “Entering the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, we feel gratitude and the desire to give back. Our firm wants to give back to this community where we live and work, and this coat drive is one way we can do that.”
