The winner of GibsonSingleton’s 2018 Texts=Wrecks scholarship is…
We at GibsonSingleton Virginia Injury Attorneys asked a lot from our 2018 scholarship applicants: “What can you do to help combat distracted driving? What will you say when your friend starts checking text messages while driving? How are you going to take what you’ve learned so far in life to make good decisions now that you’re “in the driver’s seat” as an adult?”
The responses we received were well worth it. Students across the United States went above and beyond to give us thoughtful, insightful answers. We selected six finalists on June 14, and we moved on to the next step—selecting a winner!
After reviewing our finalists’ transcripts, proof of enrollment, and essays (one last time), we agreed that one student deserved the prize…
Congratulations, Gillian Pritchett of Warner Robins, Georgia!!
You have won a $1,000 scholarship toward your educational expenses! We are delighted to get to know you through your writing, and we have no doubt that you will continue to do wonderful things in your community and beyond. We were so impressed by your commitment to preventing drunk driving, and we look forward to seeing what else you’ll do with that!
To all our finalists: thank you so much for your outstanding efforts. It was a difficult choice, and we wish we had another $5,000 to give away.
To every student who applied: thank you. Keep studying, giving back to your community, and making good choices. It’s worth it, and you’ll see even more benefits as you continue to grow. Please try again next year for our 2019 scholarship!
